“Go to where you are treated best” — see the video below. The idea that you can tax your way to success, or tax your way out of your problems, simply does not work. People with money will leave.

I do not know the solution to all the ills of our world, but I know one thing: if you tax people enough, eventually something gives, and money and capital flee. My theory on why Dubai has been so successful is that it offers a low-tax, low-regulation, business-friendly environment and is geographically central to the world.

People in Dubai are not taxed on personal income. Corporate income is taxed at only 9% above AED 375,000. I wish America had a more friendly tax structure, especially when it comes to personal income taxes. Whether you make $40,000 or $4,000,000, the idea of the government taking any percentage of money you worked for just seems wrong.

Maybe we cannot have 0% personal income taxes, but why can we not have a flat tax of 10%?
